Danish trade unions, local authorities and government have announced a new plan to ease the country’s current labour shortages by making it easier for older people to secure work.
The proposed new rules would bar employers from asking the age of potential recruits, avoiding any age-related discrimination. The deal includes funding for courses for new graduates, designed to help them enter the jobs market soon after completing their studies.
A fund to help employment services to distribute information about job vacancies is also to be set up, with a budget of 15 million Danish kroner (over €2 million) per year in 2022 and 2023.
