Dear colleagues
On 22. and 23. April ETUC hold a Trade Union Summit for Ukraine, in Lublin, Poland, where we gathered more than 110 trade unionists from Europe and Ukraine.
At the Summit, we discussed:
- the trade unions’ role in restoring Ukraine through social dialogue and collective bargaining;
- the importance of social conditionalities in reconstruction process;
- the role of trade unions in EU accession process and;
- how to rebuild trade union power by organising more workers especially women and youth, especially under the Marshal law.
The Summit concluded with joined declaration capturing rich exchange and emphasising the main political messages.
I want to thank all participants of the Summit for their engagement, fruitful discussion and dedication.
The Summit showcase again the trade union commitment to help and work with our Ukrainian trade union colleagues and it proved the unity of our movement in standing for trade union values.
It has been an important milestone on our path, and it paves the way for our future work helping Ukrainian workers in times of war and beyond.
I invite you all to use the declaration for your future work and I look forward working with you in the future.
In solidarity,
Tea Jarc
Confederal Secretary
