Trade unions in Lithuania have negotiated a good deal for workers in social and public services. The new collective agreement in social services brings a significant increase in minimum monthly pay, from €642 to €730, while working hours will be cut by one hour a week. Trade union members covered by the agreement will get an extra day’s leave after 10 years’ service.
In 2022, public service workers will see a 2.2% increase in the basis salary on which specific salary additions are calculated. Trade union members covered by the collective agreements will get two additional days’ leave for educational purposes. This means that workers can take up to 10 days’ educational leave on average pay or five days to improve their health.
