The ETUC together with the Friederich Ebert Foundation organises the open-debate event "State of the European Union - an ETUC view''. It takes place one day before the official annual ‘State of the Union’ speech by President Juncker at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, and is intended to promote an alternative view: a wider assessment of the ‘State of the Union’ from the perspective of working people and communities across Europe.
Luca Visentini, ETUC General Secretary, will make an opening speech, followed by László Andor, former EU Commissioner for employment, social affairs and inclusion, to discuss the way forward.
