ETUC Annual Gender Equality Survey 2019
Brussels, 21 March 2019
Sent to: ETUC member organisations and to the Members of the Women's Committee
For information to: Delegates of the ETUC - Youth Committee
Dear colleagues,
As you know, the ETUC Gender Mainstreaming Charter adopted by the Seville Congress in 2007 contains a commitment to organise an annual survey to highlight the need for gender mainstreaming within trade unions and our own activities, and assess whether progress has been made in reducing the gender ‘representation gap’ within unions’ organisations. This commitment was re-affirmed at the Paris Congress in 2015.
The Survey follows its usual structure: the first part looks at women’s participation within the ETUC member organisation in terms of membership numbers and their representation in decision making positions, and the second part focuses on a specific theme.
The focus of this year’s Survey is on the issue of young people in the labour market and in trade unions, with a specific gender focus.
We encourage affiliates to complete and return this by 15 April 2018 by e-mail to Cinzia Sechi ([email protected]). She will be at your disposal for any information that may facilitate you in filling in the questionnaire.
Members of the ETUC - Youth Committee, please take in consideration that only one response per organisation can be submitted to the ETUC advisor. It is normally the Women's Committees of each ETUC affiliate who answers this survey. You are encouraged to liase with your colleagues from the Women's Committee of your respective organisation to contribute to the section on youth.
Please note that non-responses will also be highlighted in the survey results.
We thank you in advance for your reply.
