The ETUC stands with teachers and their European trade union federation, the ETUCE, for the European Week of Teachers. The week of action aims to raise policy solutions in their 10 key demands to make teaching more attractive.
From 2- 6 October 2023, actions from education trade unions at local, regional and national level are taking place across Europe. The ETUC is committed to ensuring that governments have the ability to invest in education. This ability is threatened by ongoing attempts to return Europe to a regime of austerity cuts, which the ETUC is taking action to counter.
Throughout the European Week of Teachers, the ETUCE welcomes social media support from trade unions to express their solidarity with the teachers in Europe.
