Domestic workers are a growing but mostly invisible workforce in Europe, and they are extremely vulnerable to gross exploitation. They require all the help the trade union movement can give them, and yet they are hard to reach and organise.
The role of domestic workers in Europe is closely linked to issues surrounding atypical and undeclared work, migration and integration, and the provision of adequate public services. The ETUC cooperates with NGOs and industry federations in seeking to defend domestic workers and improve their conditions.
