Dear collegues,
We're happy to share with you the ETUC Youth Campaign for European Elections that was presented online yesterday.
We are ready to fight for social Europe by mobilizing young voices and ensuring they're heard loud and clear in the upcoming elections.
Join us for an online campaign that is based on our election manifesto ETUC Youth Demands with stand-out colours, ready-to-use and adaptable materials. No fancy jargon, your content, your impact!
All the materials are designed for use on social media and they are based on specific colours, stickers and fonts. With this, you can use them in different ways but still support the co-creation of joint visual identity.
To make the materials useful, easily adaptable, and sharable, we have decided to use free tools such as Google Drive and Canva.
- Where can I get the ready-to-use materials?
All materials can be found in this shared folder.
Inside you can find a large variety of materials:
- GENERIC MATERIALS
- Plain backgrounds with 7 main colours of the campaign
- Stickers: static and dynamic. Those can be downloaded and used for all social media.
- THEMATIC EXAMPLES OF VISUALS in English for each of our 6 topics (the ones that are currently missing will be added progressively)
- Word document with text ideas for posts, captions, carousels, polls etc. This you can use as an inspiration; you can translate it into your language or change it as you wish.
- Posts- square sized
- Carousels (series of 5 different stories that can be published as animated Instagram stories)
- Stories with different messages
- Autocorrect (The campaign posts motivating people to take action and vote)
As of next week (6th May), all the stickers and the ETUC logo will be available on the Giphy account, and you can find them directly in your social media app by searching for the keyword ETUC Youth.
2. How can I make my own materials?
Not everyone has the same taste and most of all, not all of us create content in English. That is why we decided to upload all the materials directly to Canva where you can access it and modify it with a few clicks.
We prepared templates for the topic of quality jobs, but you can adapt them as you like.
You can play with templates, translate the text in your language, add the logo of your trade union, make any kind of graphic or video and simply add stickers to it... Options are unlimited. Canva is free and easy to use.
3. How to campaign?
The success of our campaign does not rely on activists sharing ETUC Youth posts but on activists creating hundreds of original posts targeted to their audience.
You can create facebook posts, tweets, stories and live videos, you can add a sticker or a youth demand. You can translate one of our ideas or create your own with a topic that matters the most. You can make your personalised virtual meeting background or add the sticker to your profile picture… the combinations are endless, and we can’t wait to see all the ideas that our joint network will come up with.
Don’t forget to tag ETUC and ETUC youth for us to keep track.
4. What if I need something a bit different?
The campaign will be developing on the go with new content being regularly uploaded by us. If you have technical difficulties or if you want more content of a certain type, we will be at your disposal to help you. We will also be happy to receive your feedback on what is working and what is not. Best practices should be shared among all of us.
5. Ready, steady, go!
ETUC Youth Bureau will start posting on Monday, the 6th of May, one month ahead of the EU elections! We want to have a strong launch, so we kindly ask you to join us and make the first posts on Monday.
For any questions and information about the campaign and its content you can get in touch with Lucie, ETUC Youth Coordinator ([email protected])
We are very excited to share this new campaign with you and encourage you to share these instructions with your organisation and network.
Let’s flood the social media with our youthful, colourful, edgy and creative campaign.
Let’s mobilise young people and bring them to the elections.
Let's show the world what we're made of and shake up the status quo together.
In solidarity,
Tea Jarc
ETUC Confederal Secretary
